This is a hand made tin scoop used in kitchens and general stores throughout the United States. This one is the small variety, measuring 3 3/4" in length. The handle has been applied using solder. It is in very good condition, no damage, rust or holes at all. These were used to scoop flour, grain, sugar and most anything else you might find in a kitchen or general store. The unique thing about this one is that it was inside a Civil War haversack. Not quite sure what it was being used for, but I guess the guy could have been the camp cook. Or maybe he was using it for gun powder, we will never know. It's a neat little piece you can use to decorate your home or business kitchen.
