This is a Belgian made side by side pinfire shotgun manufactured during the mid 1800's. This shotgun has an overall length of 41", with barrel lengths of 24 3/4". The barrels and all iron furniture have a smooth dark appearance. The bores are in good condition with no pitting. They gage out at 10, what ever the metric equivalent is of that! The left barrel is slightly damaged at the muzzle. There are no makers marks visible on the barrels or lock plates. There are two sets of numbers stamped on the gun. The number 12 appears on the lever to break the barrels down, and again on the lock to remove the barrels. The number 9410 is stamped onto the bottom of the barrel pivot point, as well as on the bottom of the barrels. The ELG stamp over the star is also stamped on the bottom of the barrels, the Belgian proof mark. There is decorative scroll engraving on the lock plates, hammers, barrel lock and lever, trigger guard and butt plate tang. The mechanics of the locks are strong and crisp. A replacement screw is retaining the left hammer. The Monte Carlo style stock is in very good condition. The normal bumps and dings are found on the bottom of the stock. There is evidence of sling swivels on the bottom of the barrel and the bottom of the stock comb, but both swivels are missing. This is one of the first pinfire shotguns we've had in the shop. Overall it is in good condition, and is quite a good looking gun!
