This is a set of United States Marine Corps web gear from World War II. The set is made up of a M1923 cartridge belt and P1941 suspenders. The cartridge belt does not bear the USMC stamp, but has a very legible US stamp on the first cartridge pouch on the right side. It is also maker marked, being ink stamped D.M. SHOE CO. 1943. This stamp represents the Des Moines shoe company of Iowa. All snaps on the cartridge belt work, the khaki material has some light staining but no tears or rips. The P41 suspenders are USMC items, designed by three NCO's of the 5th Marine regiment as part of a replacement pack system for the M1910/1928 pack system being used at the time. The suspenders are in good condition, with no tears, frays or rips. The metal parts are straight and retain the majority of the applied black coating. This set displays strong and will compliment any WWII Pacific theater collection.
