Four Pull Telescope

This is a four pull pocket telescope from the Civil War era. It measures 8 3/4" collapsed and an extended length 0f 23 5/8". The leather cover over the body of the telescope shows some honest wear and has a couple of spots where the black outer layer has flaked off. The stitching for the cover is missing. The brass on the telescope has not been cleaned and presents an eye pleasing dull golden patina. The optics on this one are still clear. There is no protective slide cover for the eye piece, but there is a protective cap for the objective lense, stamped FRANCE. These type of telescopes were used by Officers and Engineers throughout the war. This one would look great in a Cavalry display, an Engineer or Officers grouping.
